Adding tags to photos on Orkut is a way to figure out different persons with a link to their profiles from a single photo. Clicking on tagged part of a photo will take you to the respective person’s Orkut profile. This is a new and innovative way to build communication. But this becomes really headache if you don’t want to share your photos with unknown persons but one of your photos has been tagged in your friend’s album. Now if your friend’s album is not locked and open to everyone on Orkut, anyone can click on “Photos of Me” in your profile and see your photographs in your friend’s album. In this way anyone can see your photos even your Orkut album is locked. Let’s know how to disable this and protect your privacy.
How to disable photo tagging on your photos
1. Login to your Orkut profile.
2. Navigate to Setttings >> click on Privacy tab
3. The very first option in privacy tab is “enable photo tagging“. Uncheck this option.
4. Photo tagging option has been disabled on your profile.
5. You are done.
Now whenever someone will try to add a tag to your photos on Orkut, he will get a photo tagging disabled notification saying, “The friend that you are trying to tag has disabled photo tagging“. Check out below screenshot.
This will restrict everyone, including your friends from adding tags to your photos. Doing this will remove all your previously photo tags as well. If you want to keep photo tagging enabled but remove tags from certain photos only, you can do so by navigating to that photo and removing your tag manually (this option is available to tag creator, album owner and tagged person only).
